LinkedIn advertising can be needlessly confusing. LinkedIn provides an endless supply of short videos that seem to loop back to one another, resulting in more confusion than was there to begin with. I'm here to provide simple concise answers to your questions. No fluff, no stories to waste your time. Here it is. 3 Paid Advertising Options that you have on LinkedIn in 2020.

1. Sponsored Content

This content appears directly within the LinkedIn home feed and it looks like this. You can see the little "promoted" title showing you that it is appearing as a result of paid advertising. This is a great way to share the highlights of your business or to spread awareness about a specific initiative you have going on.

2. Text Ads

This content appears directly to the right of the LinkedIn home feed and it looks like this. These are much smaller and much tighter. This type of ad is better for creating brand awareness for your business, but it is not particularly effective at driving traffic or prompting clicks. If you simply want your logo seen by people in your industry, this is a good option.

3. Sponsored InMail

This content appears directly inside the inboxes of LinkedIn members. It is a fantastic way to target specific high level individuals with a very well crafted message. It is important to note that LinkedIn significantly slows down the number of messages that you can send per day. This is not like an email blast. These campaigns will work slowly and steadily over a longer period of time.

Of all of the advertising options, #1 Sponsored Content is the most flexible. It allows you to use videos or multiple photos at a time to support the text of your post.
